HIGH POTENTIAL INDIVIDUAL (HPI) VISA

Introduction

The High Potential Individual (HPI) Visa enables eligible applicants to enter and reside in the United Kingdom for a minimum period of two years. The visa grants holders the right to work in most jobs, seek employment, engage in self-employment, and perform voluntary work. Additionally, HPI visa holders are permitted to bring their spouses and children under the age of 18 to the UK with them.

Tenure of visa

An HPI visa usually lasts for 2 years. If you have a PhD or other doctoral qualification, it will last for 3 years.

If you want to stay longer in the UK

You cannot extend your HPI visa. However, you may be able to switch to a different visa, for example a Skilled Worker visa.

Eligibility

To be eligible for HPI Visa, you must have been awarded a qualification by an eligible university in the last 5 years.
